I have recently bought a OC Z 520W PowerStream PSU and Im a little concerned that I might not being using the right connections when connecting up the motherboard.

Here's a pic of the connectors..

Now I was assuming (probably wrong!!) to use the two black connectors and not one of the blue ones. But one of my friends told me that the black 12v connector seemed to be wired wrong??? Please can someone help me out here!!

Thanks so much! Happy Christmas!

Good question; I would assume to use one of the blue connectors, as only one of them will fit in the ATX12v connector. The other one will have a shaped connector that definitely will not fit, as it's meant for the newer Pentium 4 LGA-775 processors that require extra 12v current.

I'm not entirely sure what the black one is, so I'd leave it well be :)

Greetings from Eastbourne ;)

Greetings from North Devon!! Its a small world isnt it? :)

Well with me reading the manual for like two seconds, I think I may have fried the board, but Im not holding to that!!

It does say in the manual that the BLACK connectors are for Intel and the BLUE ones are for AMD.. Man I feel like such an ARSE!! Damn it, I could have been at a Lan Party yesterday!!! (as long as the board DID actually work in the first place!!)

Now where did I put my brain too???.....

If that's the case, then it's unlikely that fried the board - the ATX12v connector has to conform to a standard, and there's no difference between the P4 and AMD board connectors.

However, some AMD boards will POST without the ATX12v connector being plugged in; have you tried that?

We did try that but it was the same story I think, 4 red LED's.. Either way I think that the board is dead, but hopefully the Bios chip or a RMA will make it a different story... :light:
