okay... I went out and ordered a PIII 800EB processor.. to replace my ageing PII 450 . I have the ABIT BF6 motherboard... with softmenu 3 Bios... I have 256 megs of pc100 ram and a 3D prophet Geforce DDR-DVI vid card with 32 megs of ram on it.. I've installed the new CPU.. and have ran it fine.. within my windows 98, and windows 2000 operating systems.. at the full 800mhz. In order for me to run the processor at the full 800mhz.. the FSB is set to 133mhz.. so far this is okay.. even though i have pc100 ram.. (i can start windows, and do everything 2D wise forever)... The problem comes when (at the full 133FSB speed ) and i try to run any 3D accelerated program... WITH the exception of (crimson skies for some wierd reason).. that it FREEZES my screen... and basically locks up the 3d App. I have lowerd the FSB down to around 125.. and even underclocked the 800EB down to 400Mhz and all is well.. But the thing is i want to BE ABLE to run at the full SPEED of the CPU..
.. I also set the AGP to 2/3 of the BUS speed.. at the Higher 133FSB mhz and it still freezes.. 3d apps... :( i have put the PCI bus speed to all the settings of ethier 1/4, 1/3 ,1/2 but it dosnt seem to have any effect... hmm... I Flashed both my Geforces' Bios to the newest version from "Hercules"... and also updated my "Award Bios." IS THERE ANYWAY.. that I CAN SET THE AGP BUS SPEED to 1/4, 1/3, 1/2... of my FSB of 133?!??!... =(
Does anyone know if my Geforce will run at the 2/3 of the 133mhz FSB and be stable... so i can use.. my Full power of the 800EB PIII and not result to underclocking.. it??? PLEASE HELP!!!! =( =(

1) The BF6 is based on the 440BX chipset. AGP can be 2/3 or 1/1. PCI can be 1/3 or 1/4. Memory runs @ FSB

2) Mushkin You need new RAM buddy. PC100 won't cut it @ 133 unless you're gawdawful lucky.

How about looking for a trade on the for sale/for trade board, get a BX board (like the Asus P3B-F) and throw in a little cash? The P3B-F will let you run 133 without overclocking your AGP bus, and would be a pretty cheap solution. Or sell the CPU and get a celery 600@900 with a slocket and good cooling, that'll probably make you some money :).
