All of a sudden my icq won't load and it gives me an icqmutl.dll error i uninstalled icq and redownloaded it and it still doesn't work.
then i get a backweb-8263142 error every time i restart

now my browser wont accept any cookies at all even though i changed the settings.

I upgraded to win xp hoping it would fix the problems but it didn't

is this my hard drive causing this?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I hate to have to respond to my own thread but does anyone have any idea. I've tried everything I can think of.

Is there any way to use my xp disc and reinstall all the important files without formatting my hard drive?

Id run scandisk and check for any bad sectors, first thing. If anything shows up, theres your problem. Cash in your HDD's RMA.

If nothings shows up, a fresh format never hurt anything except any data you forgot to back up. A fresh windows install fixes most everything 😉
