Maybe someone here can give me a resolution for the following problem that MSI has yet to respond to:
I recently purchased the K7T Turbo-R and have a possible problem with the board.
All case connectors are hooked up correctly and the computer runs but I have a concern with the way it powers-up.
The computer is plugged into a surge protector and when I turn on the master power on the surge protector the computer will try to power-up before I hit the power button on the computer. This should not happen, correct? The lights on the front of the computer and the CPU fan all power-up for 1 to 2 seconds and power-off. Then when I push the "Power On" button on the computer it turns on completely. Everything works fine at power-down. What could be causing this problem and is it dangerous to the components installed in the computer (CPU, Video Card etc..)?
I have the following hardware installed:
ATI Radeon AIW
SB Live X-Gamer
3Com PCI 10/100 LAN Card
Creative PCI WINMODEM
750 T-Bird
512MB of Crucial 133 CAS2
Plextor 12X10X32 IDE
AFREEY 50X IDE CDROM
IBM 45GB ATA 100, 7200rpm
Western Digital 20GB, 5400rpm
Antec PP-303X
A follow on to the e-mail I sent to MSI is that I played around in the BIOS with Power setting (things like wake on LAN etc...) and the stupid thing will boot completely when I power on the surge protector. No need to hit the power button on the case.
