Linksys routers are nice for the price. :)

Try this CTF server:
208.190.213.105
password "nef"

Warnings (possible problems with server):
- I can only upload 128kb
- SWbell may decide to take away my IP at random times :p

Who plays UT from anandtech?
Only see massive CS, and I havnt gotten into that.

Good luck, linksys blows for hosting games. And it doesn't blow in the good way either, nope.

Can you explain that? I join games at 60ms throught the router, and I just hosted my friend at a similar speed. Where are you coming from, ltk?

Killbat,

Pay him no heed. Sometimes those who know nothing just like to make sure everyone realizes it.

Oh, fine, I'll put the server back up. :D

Connect to 208.190.213.105, but don't be shocked when SWbell disconnects us all. :)

BiggieN do you have a 56k modem?? I ask this because you had pretty bad pings at neo's CS server.

Russ, have you ever set up a counterstrike server, a Q3 server, or a UT server on a linksys router? I can join the game just fine from another computer on the local network, but any anyone else who joins from the outside gets kicked by the router in minutes. I've disabled the firewall and tried port forwarding but still have had no luck, and I'm not the only one with the same problem. I can run servers fine when I'm not going through the router. If you'd take your head out of your ass for a second maybe you'd realize that I could be right. The linksys router is notoriously bad for hosting games.

ltk007, perhaps you should explore other options and be sure that you're not using your router incorrectly. You have made the mistake of translating your single bad experience to a faux "notorious" condition. I have had nothing but the best of luck with this router. Try firmware 1.37 and see what happens. Try DMZ hosting, if nothing else.

To add :), I can only send 128kb up the pipe. If y'all are planning on a large game, you should find another host besides me and my magical "SWbell expiring IP trick" :D

Look here, its notorious dammit and I'm right ;)

OK, UT works, so sue me. But for CS and Quake its no good.

ltk007,

I'm running multiple servers. Not my fault that you are so inept you don't know how to use the equipment.

Put up a working counterstrike server, and I'll take a picture of me putting my foot in my mouth just for you russ.
