i need help deciding between these 2 monitors..

i will be moving from a 17" crt..i will be using the monitor for web browseing,photoshop and some gaming,but not alot.

im running a MSI 6600gt pci-e video card..

i really dont want to spend over $300 if possible, but is there another monitor you would suggest for this price range?..i know the widescreen has gotten alot of good reviews,but it doesnt have DVI (is it really important?)
