i've already got the prices of 1 litre bottles of coke in another 16 countries around the world, left the US for last cos i assumed it would be the easiest of them all, only to find that 1 litre bottles aren't sold.

so what else can i do but make up a reasonable price

Why did you bother asking us if you are just going to make up a "reasonable" price? There have been a dozen posts explaining that 1 liter prices aren't "reasonable". I'm guessing because this price doesn't fit your predetermined conclusion for the paper that you feel the need to manufacture data? I hope you fail the paper.

I agree. A 1L bottle of Pepsi in the Chicagoland area runs around $1.49-$1.59 at a convenience store. A 2L bottle can be easily bought for $.99 at the grocery store. You're paying more for the 1L due to convience and b/c it's sold chilled. Assuming anything less than $1.35 would be, in my opinion, completely inaccurate. Assuming $.90-$.93 is blatant manipulation of data.

They're also very common here in Alabama. Pretty much every convenience store has them for about ~$1.40

I know this because I used to buy at least one 1-liter of Coca-Cola per day before giving up soda.

At the gas station on my way to work they run about $1.50 for a one-litre. In a supermarket, a 2-litre is $1.39.

A 1 litre bottle of pop is a really bad item to use to discuss purchasing power parity since it's a convenience product (at least it is in the US), which means that the price is going to be both disproportionately high and disproportionately variable depending upon the demographics of the sub-market in which it's being sold.

I do not know their price in six-packs, but I could make a quick call to my grocery store for you if it would help.

20oz bottles can be had COLD at a convienience store for $1.25-1.29 usually.

2 litre bottles can be had at room temperature for as little as $0.70 on sale at grocery stores, but are usually around a dollar. At a conveinience store, 2 litre bottles are sold at room temp for closer to 1.80-2.00

I do not believe I have ever seen 2 litre bottles sold cold.

Coke sells 1-liters... and both coke and pepsi 1-liters are available at just about any place that sells 20 oz bottles individually. It's been years since I've seen a 1-liter at the prices people here are quoting though, I usually see 20 oz for $1.29 and 1-liter for $1.59.
