Ok, I want to oc my fsb on the athlon. How high do you think my pc 2100 can go? I have 2 sticks of Kingston ValueRam. Right now I have my fsb at 145. Is memtest86 a good way of checking the ram over clock? Right now my settings are at 13 x 145, and I am sure I can go higher, but just need a moderate overclock. I am just curious, how high can some of your ddr 266's go? Also, what is better for overall system performance, upping the fsb or the multiplyer? Thank you, and sorry for all the questions!

Check the RAM chips as some of the Value RAM had good ones. I know the 2700's included BH-6 and do over 210FSB, so in essence it's trial and error. Clock for clock, higher FSB will be better then the multiplying.

I decided that I dont really want to mess with my fsb. If I set my muliti to 14.5 and my fsb at 133, would my chip read as a 2400?

It might - but it might not boot, either. If your memory can handle 166, you might be better off lowering the multipler (if necessary) and raising the fsb to 166.

Big, XP2400's have a 133fsb, but they have a 15x multiplier. Why not see how high you can get your fsb with that ram, then upping the multi? Wouldn't that be the best of both worlds??:D
