Toshiba 48x dvd
Teac 40x cd-rom
ECS K7S5A Motherboard (Sis 735)
Enermax 431 PS
Radeon LE

I turn on the computer and I get two quick beeps, followed by 8 semi-longer beeps. I tried w/out hd and & cd rom, still no go. Tried w/out all that plus Vid card still same beeps as before. Please help me I'm really desparate to get this thing going....:(

not familiar with that exact beep pattern... you've triple checked that video card and ram is seated properly? If so, remove, and check one more time.

Consult the MoBos manual or the manufacturers website regarding the meaning of the beep-code...

Is the processor seated properly/correctly?

Thing is the beep codes are always changing. 4 beeps indicates system timer failure. Not sre about that though. Yes, the cpu is seated correctly

About the only thing i can think of off hand is your ram isn't seated correctly. DDR ram is really difficult to seat. I nearly rma'd a stick of crucial before trying one last time to get it to work. Pressed down really, really hard and it worked.

Hope that helps

Double and triple check the jumper settings. Test components such as video card, RAM and Cpu in another system if possible. Call tech support . If none of that works, or you can isolate the motherboard as the problem, RMA it.

Okay I checked it out, and It boots, but it says on screen "Cmos settings wrong", "Cmos cache wrong" and then it says hit f1 to run setup.

Switched cmos jumper. Instead of cmos settings wrong I now get cmos battery low. The heatsink feels hot as hell too.
