I second this. Breaking Bad is, imo, the best show on television.

But watch it from the beginning.

What exactly is the draw? From what I read of the premise its just about a person who knows they're going to die from some medical condition and as a result live their life differently. Explain the attraction?

Lost is getting good again, great to marathon through instead of having to wait a week between episodes

I finished off the season yesterday. Fantastic stuff!

I really need to check out Breaking Bad. I listened to Cranston on Carolla's podcast a while back and I kept meaning to try the show after that, but kept forgetting. Sounds like a winner though.

Hey OP, you can catch all of 'Rescue Me' on Hulu, I like a lot of the shows you listed, I bet you'll love this one.

Well, without going into it TOO much... He's a chemistry whiz who is barely making a living and providing for his family by teaching high school chemistry. In order to provide for his family after what he believes to be his inevitable death, he decides to start cooking meth. Drama ensues.

I've been watching a LOT of TV.

NCIS, Bones, The Wire, Rome, Dexter, Mad Men, BSG are all pretty good shows. Some are more intense, others are more casual watch and sit back.

The Wire, and Mad Men are shows where I think you need to give it several episodes before you get a feel for the show. The pilot's aren't "catch you and grab you" but more "we're setting stuff up and you'll see why". IMO in both cases it is worth it. Rome the first episode was ZZZZZ but the second episode on really picks up.

NCIS and Bones I watch mainly for the team interactions, not the crime component (though the crime component is sometimes interesting). I like NCIS more than Bones, but both have been a good way to kill time by watching an episode. Though once you watch enough of each show the episodes fall into pretty predictable formats.

If you haven't already seen them or if it's been awhile : Star Trek Deep Space 9 and Babylon 5 are probably worth a watch. I like DS9 better myself (Gasp, I'm sorry) but B5 is definitely one of the greatest scifi shows. Stargate SG-1 I hear is good and a friend had the box set so I'm going through those now... as soon as I'm done with the wire :p

I also enjoyed Spooks (from the BBC). It was slow at first and the sound values seem off (hard to hear characters sometime) but I really started to like it around season 2.

The Wire
Rescue Me
Nip/Tuck
Sleeper Cell (really good show about terrorists that flew under the radar on showtime, only 2 seasons unfortunately)

Big Bang Theory is some hilarious nerd humor. Anyone know if its being picked up for a 3rd season?

The IT Crowd.

First season is available on Netflix Watch Instantly (it's only 6 episodes). They are slowly releasing this series on DVD in the US. Also, Independent Film Channel airs episodes in the US.

Terminator, The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Season 1 was horrible but season 2 was actually pretty good! Sadly, it wasn't renewed for a season 3.
