Fiancee and I are doing the Angel Tree this year and we got a little boy who wants an RC Car.... We wanna spend like $50 max, any recs?

How old is the kid?

<8 and i'd say get a cheap Tyco thing, almost anything.

Any older, and I'd talk to the parents about trying to put a little more money towards it and get a slightly better one, like a 4wd road/race car, I would have loved one of those at that kind of age over a cheap plasticy thing that you'll get for $50.

OK, fair enough 🙂

For $50 you're not going to find much better than your standard Tyco ready-to-run, almost all are created equally as badly 😉

Kudos for doing it 🙂

I don't know about that, I had a pretty good RC car at 8-9, but having a battery pack that didn't last more than 10 minutes took a lot of the novelty out of it. And I wouldn't give a kid at that age a gas-powered anything.

A little Tyco car will suit you just fine. Find a cool-looking one in his favorite color and he'll love it.
