Please help me choose the right parts for a new PC.

I've been out of the market for a year now and I need some help looking for some parts for a new PC. I am looking for a PC that is stable. I am also looking for an Intel P4 based system. Through the little time I've had to do some research, I've learned that these parts are very good and stable:


CPU - Intel P4 3.0c Ghz
Mobo - P4C800-E Deluxe
RAM - Mushkin DDR 400 (PC3200)
HDD - WD 80GB @ 7200rpm
Floppy - Sony
Sound - SB Audigy 2zs Platinum
Video - ATI 9800xt

If anybody has a better suggestion for any of these parts please let me know.

looks good, but you dont really need the radeon 9800xt. its not much of a jump in performance from a 9800 pro, and costs way more. if you plan on getting the radeon 9800xt, hten wait for the radeon X800 Pro to come out very soon. it will be better for the same cost. i think it will come out within a few weeks.

Agreed, also would give some thought to AMD.
