please help me! 980x heatsink to a 990x cpu

i got a 980x i7 heatsink but dint buy a i7 980x cpu cuz i buy a 990x cpu

so will a 980x stock heatsink will work with a 990x cpu?

please let me know

If I am not mistaken, both are LGA 1366, there is no reason for it not to work...

why? this is the cpu section and how is checking if a certain cpu heatsink will work not cpu related?
