PLEASE HELP!!! Intel Bad Axe optical audio out problem

So I have a Bad Axe 1 motherboard.

I have a cable hooked up to the optical audio out and I am running it to my Onkyo 805 receiver because the Bad Axe is in my HTPC. There is a problem though, there is no audio output when I connect the optical out from my computer to my receiver.

I am not sure what the problem is and for some reason it seems like no one has ever had this problem before. Please help me!!!!!
 
Wish I could help ya, I also have a Bad Axe but I've never tried using the optical output. Giving you a bump in hopes someone can help ya out.
