Be sure you dont have noisy kids around, and you can crank up the volume a little bit....Best to be alone in the dark....so the ambiance comes full to its rights lol, seriously, great action variation, but for most the AMBIANCE is truely GREAT....nothing like it

well thats my opinion at least...

again good luck...post the outcome please, im curious what happens

Haven't even got to play it yet. I was going to load it this morning after I tried to help cool the CPU.

I assume you got that free HL2 coupon with your combo.

I did get the coupon, with my 9600XT that i bought in the past!!!!
Bought the game though, didnt feel like making copy's of the coupon and the card-box, mailing it to wherever, and than finally DOWNLOADING the game...
I like having a good game collection with original packaging lol, im weird like that i know...

No force should be necessary, it should just drop into place.

The motherboard is ususaly the chaper part of the system, I don't get why you would get upset over it, but not the cpu that costs more?

That's what I said, no force except for gravity.

As for replacing the MB, It was nearly as much as the CPU, but the big thing is, I have all my wires/cables tied up very neatly and everything is of completely installed. I just don't want to have to remove it and then reinstall another board all over again.

And yes, I got the free HL2 coupon with the combo.🙂

I was disapointed that I didn't actually get the CD, but I save $50 so it doesn't matter. 🙂

well, thats a pretty strong argument haha, better than mine for sure lol....(nice system by the way, benched it on aquamark?) just curious

oh, and ike, if the lever dont work anymore...ehm...i mean the lever still works right?

Well, if u are "screwed"..get a 3200, and clock it nicely to a 3500+, All down sides have good sides lol

This may sound dumb, but have u tried "helping" the cpu a little when moving the lever? Maybe the lever works, but does not tighten the cpu enough to the board anymore? Since the lever-mechanism might have been a little molested now...

that happened to me once when i was working on a computer that my friend put together and used way too much thermal paste. in my case neither the cpu or the board was damaged.

Not sure what you mean by helping it. But I'd say that is a possibility.

Damnitt!!! I hate these stupid ass holidays. MLK day and Monarch thinks they need the day off. Another day goes by with my new toy just sitting there dead.🙁

I've had the "CPU stuck to the HS" thing happen to me also on my 3000+ and Shuttle AN51R..... 4 times. The first time the pins were bent after I pulled the HSF w/ CPU out of the socket while the locking arm was still down. I just rebent the pins back to normal, installed whatever I was doing, put the CPU back in, and all was well. Bent pins DOES NOT mean dead CPU by any means.

Perhaps you didn't bend the pins back straight enough? Or maybe you accidentally got some AS or the stock TIM on your fingers, didn't realize it, and inadvertently wiped it somewhere on the mobo or CPU as you were working with them. AS is conductive. It's not designed to be, but for some very close proximity contacts, it'll mess things up. My friend once killed his new mobo by using AS incorrectly and not checking to see if his fingers were free of it before working on the mobo.

Does the mobo give you the same error message if you run it without a processor installed?
