Ok, here is the deal. I have a Plasma display i use as my PCs monitor, however, the thing only have RGBHV connections (those 5 wires) and VGA. I had a ATI AIW Radeon on here (ancient, i know) but with the newest drivers, it displays 1920x1080 pretty darn well. Well, the fan on the card had died and i didnt know, so now it doesnt display red or green anymore, just blue! It sucks. I confirmed its the video card by trying out another PC and my ps2 on the screen, works great. So here is where im at:

Im looking to get *3* new cards. They are the following:

ATI HDTV Wonder
Hauppaugge Nexus-S
AGP Video card that can properly send a 1920x1080 through a VGA plug.

The last part is what im concerned about. i do NOT play PC games, so performance is meaningless to me. My system is a older Athlon 2400 and it honestly is fine for what i use it for (downloads, unraring, watching movies, and playing PS2 and xbox through the TV in). Im considering getting the following video cards as they all have HDTV out, but they all seem to have Component cables that i cant use. I want to connect strait through the VGA and get the same resolutions, is that possible with these?

Option 1 -

Option 2 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133149

Also, any reason why Newegg doesnt have the HDTV wonder on the site anymore? Is it getting replaced? Thanks for any help possible, im pretty much ready to go pick up everything ASAP, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Are you sure your plasma is displaying 1920x1080? You also might want to consider a 6200 with a heatsink and no fan. Anyways, I have a regular PCI fanless 5200 that I hooked up to my LCD HDTV via VGA at 720p at it is fine. Any relatively recent card in the $35-$100 range should work fine. Most VGA cards can display 2048 x 1536 at 60Hz through VGA.

I'd recommend something like a RADEON 9200[SE] (or an X300 if you want to do PCIe) if you want to do high-resolution VGA out, or else something from Matrox. Some of the cheaper NVIDIA cards (especially off-brand FX5200s) can have signal quality issues at very high VGA resolutions.

Also, unless you have a VERY new HDTV, its native resolution is probably not 1080p. In that case, you may be better off running at the TV's native resolution (probably something like 1366x768) than at 1080p.
