Ok so yesterday morning I started to attempt to port forward. Now its a new morning and I still cannot get this to work. I started off trying to forward a port for Bitcomet though my router, windows firewall, and avg firewall. After getting bashed in another forum. I went from using Bitcomet to now using uTorrent. As well as not using the windows firewall. Currently the AVG firewall is disabled as well. Now before I went to the other forum I had gone through tuts on port forwarding and I believe I set it up correctly on my router and firewalls. Still no luck. Here are my specs.
Westell Wind River dsl modem/router --> Linksys WRT54GS Wireless router -->
Toshiba Satellite A105-s4244 Laptop
ipconfig /all gives me this
IP Address: 192.168.5.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.5.1
DNS Servers 192.168.1.254

As I said I have followed good tuts on port forwarding.
In my router setup I have forwarded the port needed to IP: 192.168.5.10 to no effect. After bashing me someone on another forum told me I did it wrong and needed to learn how to bridge my router to my modem and setup dhcp. Aslo that I was using two NATS or being NATed twice. I have looked it up online and I have called my tech support for linksys which of course ended up being a waste of an hour. Please could someone walk me through this. Thank you in advance.
