Hello,

I messed up my computer a while back after messing up the unistall of my chipset drivers. Anyway, I am trying to format my hard drive to start from scratch. I have a 200Gb Seagate SATA drive. I am kind of a noob on these issues.

I have used Darik's boot & nuke flawlessly with IDE drives. I downloaded his image for SATA drives and when my system boots it just hangs at loading Linux... please wait. I went to the Seagate site and their disk utility only works for IDE drives and in DOS mode.

Please help me, with commands to type or programs to use on how to wipe my hard drives so I can reinstall.

Thank you!!!!!

If your using XP just put in your windows cd and install. It'll ask to format the drive. Then just have the drivers for your sata controller just in case.

Use parted. A free linux based utility.

You can also use fxdisk.

Just google for them.
