or save your self a couple hundred bucks at get the 34" CRT HDTV without a built in tuner

..there seems to be a lot of deals on 37-42" plasma tv's. Saw a 37" panasonic plasma at costco for 1599 and may be better deals then that. 37"plasmas were mid 2k just a year ago.

i have the EXACT same set. very reasonable price, and u still can't beat a Tube CRT for black levels and picture quality. awesome set.

however, the size of tubes is a problem for some.

its not so much the size as it the weight...those 30" sets weigh about 180 lbs...

i bought one a few weeks ago and then exchanged it for a 42" lcd which only weighed about 65 lbs...for my 360 games though, the tube tv was a bit sharper, but the LCD ain't too shabby...

I'm really confused are the postings actauly recommended? or just stuff people searched around in my price range then posted? Anyway I appreciate the help but please remember that my budget is $1000 or less.

154 Pounds ...

that weighs more then I do.

CRT is dead.

yeah, my non HD wega is like 207lbs or something.

It's not that bad if you're a real man.

Yeah, my 32" Wega weighs 165 pounds. That doesn't sound TOO bad, except that 80% of the weight is in the front of the TV, AND there are no places to get a really good grip on it. Unless you're a professional bodybuilder, there is NO way in hell that you're lifting that thing off of the stand yourself.
