I am trying to play an hd dvd on the xbox 360 hd dvd player. I have all the drivers for it installed but yet it won't detect the hd dvd inside when I insert it. I have even tried useing dvdfab hd decrypter and that wont even see it. I tried using nero 8 to play it and all I get is an error message. My monitor and video card are hdcp compliant. They are 7950gx2 video card and the viewsonic 28in lcd. Can someone please help me....

You bought the Nero 8 HDDVD pack?

You have .NET 2.0 installed?

It just says an error has occured nothing specific. Device manager lists it as toshiba hd dvd player. As it should be. I have the nero 8 pack with the correct plugins. I also have .net 2.0 but the thing is I am playing it on xp x64 which shouldnt matter but I also have tried to play it on 32bit xp. I know that nero can see it because before I downloaded the plugin I opened showtime and tried to play the disc and thats when it directed me towards the website to download the hd dvd/bluray plugin.

Above articles agree it's possible; I think OP's issue is a specific issue with Nero, as we know that PowerDVD works, and per many postings Nero 8's add-ins work, so it's likely something with his system if it won't work - checking plugins and Nero install being 2 obvious steps, and Nero can help with that in a heartbeat (and IIRC it's free.)
