Please help comp will not boot to cdrom or at all

I cannot get my xp 3000+ to boot at stock timings and voltages it gives me an error"media test failed" and then says error pxe-61 then says please insert system disk and press enter can anyone help me with this problem

try the technical support forum for better solutions.

from a quick google search it seems to indicate you are trying to boot from the network.. go into your BIOS and put the cd-rom as your first-boot item.

make sure the cd-rom and the hdd are connected prperly and try the jumpers in both 'cs' as well 'm/s' configuration.

Try clearing the bios first by using the jumper. During boot up, set the bios to default setting. Does the system post? If it post but will not boot to the OS, most likely the hdd boot sector is corrupted or it could also be the FAT table. Unless you know how to use the XP Recovery Console, you're better off doing a repair reinstalltion of your OS.
