Please help, best config!

I bought a Athlon XP 2000+ last month, i just want to ask what is the best configuration to OC my new system, here are the specs.

Athlon XP 2000+
Thermaltake Dragon Orb3 7000RPM
MSI KT3 333 Ultra (MSI-6380e)
256 PC2100 266 DDR
Geforce2 MX400 64Mb VC
161040A PlexWriter
16x Pioneer DVDROM


I just want the best configuration, don't want to unlock CPU for now.

Well I am unsure what brand the pc2100 is....I would think that unlocking the chip and dropping multiplier to run 166fsb and thus 333mhz ddr maybe out of the question....

Just go ahead and start pushing the fsb up...at 2000+ (1.67ghz) it is ulikley you will get much more then 1.73ghz without needing to boost vcore. Then it will be likely that even with the hsf you may not go much over 1800-1850mhz....144-148fsb may be your limit...

Does the board have agp/pci lock??? If so use it...


There is limited headroom by getting the athlon 2000+ and pc2100ddr....
