I just finished bulding a PC, I didn't ass all hardware, just the absolutly needed parts, but it doesn't work !!!
Its build on the A7V333. Nothing works except the green LED on the motherboard. Nothing else. No funs not other LEDs nothing.

The only thing i didn't know the correct way to put was the connections for the power and reset switch and case LEDs. But i tried both wasy and still the same.
What can it be???

power & reset plugs can go in either way, no polarity to worry about. For the HDD led, simply reverse the plug.

Strip your PC down to mobo, cpu, ram, video, and powersupply, then try to power it up. If you get nothing, take mobo out of the case and check for stray stand offs.

what are "stray stand offs" ?

I did strip it down to just those components that you said bad nothing happens. Is there any way to know where the problem is?
For example, does the LED on the motherboard mean that the PSU is working? On my other computer when i put power (even before i turn it on) the funs are spinning for a second. With this, absolutly nothing else happens. Just the LED on the motherboard and the LEDs on the keyboard flash once... and that all it does !!

I think the first couple of times I heared 1 beep also ... but now i don't even hear that ... no beeps nothing.

stray standoffs are behind the motherboard where the screws for the mother board go into if any are brushing up against the back of the mobo they could be shorting the motherboard .

hope this helps

No fans spin, but the motherboard's LED turn on. Doens't this mean that the PSU sends electricity to the motherboard?

Can i turn on the motherboard outside of the case. I was thinking to just put it on the bug that it was in and try it from there ...

Yeah, isolate the motherboard from the case. It would probably be better to use a piece of cardboard than the anti static bag. The light on the motherboard simply means your motherboard is receiving power from your power supply. Boot it with a video card, ram, no network, modem etc attached. Don't hook up hard drives or cdrom/burner/dvd yet. See if it will even post.

I've taken it out, but it on a cardboard. Now the only things connected to it are CPU+Fan, RAM, Video Card, power from powersuply, and the CPU and powersuply fans.
But still NOTHING works. The only thing that happens is that the motherboard LED comes on. Nothing else. No fan spins nothing.
Here are 2 pictures of it, tell me if I am doing anything wrong. (the LED is off now becouse i turned the power off)
Picture one
Picture 2

What can it be wrong?? Shouldn't at least spin the fans when i turn on the power?

By observing the pics:

You forgot to plug in the power plug to the jumper pins on the motheboard. What is that black and white wire for? The jumper pins for the power switch is normally on the corner of the board. Look in the booklet and locate it. That is why you have power to motherboard but no power when hitting the power switch.

The Power switch and the LEDs on the case are not pluged now because they were not long enough to reach outside the case. When i had the motherboard in the case the power switch and the case LEDs were all on the motherboard and still nothing happened when i pressed the power switch (and i tried it pluging it both ways).

I also tried another power supply and still the same thing.

The black and white wire is for the fan of the power supply. (it has 2 fans)

ok, I got it to work on the cardboard, wich means something was touching the MB while in the case. What should i change now so I could put it back in the case without having the same problem again? use less screws?

The less standoff the better. I think four is enough. One in each corner. Less chance of ground problem from case. Try getting some washers too.

I am not sure what the fix is !! :)
I took the motherboard out, put it in again (with less screws) and it worked !! Maybe it was the screws, or maybe something else that caused it not to run at all before.
Maybe its something like Windows that when you re-install them it solves most problems !!
