My last few CPU have been AMD's, and for my next upgrade I'd like to try a P4 (I'm thinking of a 2.4C since they seem amenable to overclocking to 3.0 ghz, but I'm open to suggestions). Can you people save me a bunch of time and suggest some motherboards for me? I'd like:
P4 (Northwood and Prescott)
SATA and IDE drive support
Onboard video and sound not req'd.
Onboard ethernet a plus.
Plan to overclock, so plenty of appropriate bios settings a plus.
Initially want to use an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP video card.
No use at present for PCI express slots, but I think they'd be good to have for future use.
I recently built a system for a friend that used the Chaintech 9CJS Zenith. Nice board, but I'd have no use for the Giga-lan, remote control, diagnostic 5.25" panel, memory card reader, etc. In other words, I'd prefer not to pay $169 for a motherboard with a bunch of extras if one that's well under $100 would meet my needs.
Thanks for any suggestions!
