Really... does anyone actually re-type it? I think I've come across one website ever that does not allow a paste into the 2nd box.

no it's just easier to shift-tab, copy, tab, paste.

You know what that box is good for? Visual verification yourself simply because they ask. I can see why it's necessary but having to type it all out again isn't. Especially when they let you c/p.

Funny to see this discussed - just yesterday I was paying my car insurance bill online (at the insurance co. site) and was not allowed to paste my bank account number. Had to type it twice. It was the first time I have ever run into that.

I definitely type long numbers in twice if it's req'd. Numbers being so close together is a lot harder to visually verify. It's just faster retyping it all.
