Looks good,

Nice PSU choice.

That Neo4 and the San Diego will be a wonderful combo!

Good luck with the build and the overclock. ( I hope you do, even though you said you won't be..) That SD core has at least 2.6ghz in it.. Most likely on default voltage.

What HSF if you decide to? XP-90/120 would be a worthy choice..

Keep us posted.

Meaning bigger?

430 can handle that rig no problem.. ESPECIALLY if he isn't overclocking.

The floppy drive link doesn't work. Looks good otherwise.

Gonna be a kick ass rig.

Edit: As a matter of fact, I can't get ANY of your links to work. Anyone else have this problem?

I was wondering what monitor is better between the L90D+ VX924. I have read several reviews one the two and some say that the VX924 will be the best 19" LCD when released. It does have the 4ms response compared the the 8ms or the L90D+, but they L90D+ has a higher contrast ratio and has a higher "brightness rating." Seems the L90D+ will be better because I have heard there is no noticable ghosting on 8ms, so 4ms seems unneccesary. Anyone have any feedback about this?

Hmmm, you are correct. Sorry about that. Last thread had broken links too. I suck at the intraweb ;).

Any feedback is welcome. Should I just opt to go for an x800xl instead? It is $100 less but doesn't offer any real overclocking. I actually think I may just go with one because next gen cards will be out soon.

X800XL is the most cost-efficient card out right now. Best bang for the buck
You should go with it

I want to stick with an LCD because I need desk space and in terms of speed they have almost caught up to the CRT. I also think I want to stick with his processor, motherboard I am not so set on but this one seems decent. As for the videocard I am considering bumping down to the x800xl. I realize that at stock speeds the 6800GT is only a smidge faster in some games and slower in some, but it offers the ability to overclock to Ultra speeds (which I will be doing if I go with it instead of the x800xl). The x800xl is a great card, but I feel that it may hold the rest of this system back, especially with AA and AF on. I know that the Ultra isn't that much faster, but the difference between an average of 38fps and 48 fps with AA/AF on is bigger than the difference between 110 and 120. I am pretty decided on most of the system, but I still need to make up my mind on the video card and motherboard.

the x800xl is a great card its like a x800pro with 16 pipelines its in the middle of the x850 and the x800 personaly i dont like nvidia never have but i do respect the new 6 series it was a total change and they have became good ati has been good for along time.

nvidia 6800gt also uses alot of voltage.

Yeah I am thinking of the X800XL and will probably go with it, but I just fear it could hold the rest of the system back.

It's OK. At least we can still see what the link is supposed to lead too. I just wasn't sure if you knew they did not work.

I still wonder about the videocard. The x800xl seems good but I wonder if it will perform well with AA/AF. Benchmarks seem to say so, but that is average FPS and not minimum.

psu seems a little lite. that doesnt give you much room for upgrades in the future. why get the bare minimum? get a little more then what you need so when new hardware comes out you got the power to run it assuming some of the new stuff that comes out interests you.

Try this PSU Calculator out: www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp Use a 20% additional power selection after you enter everything in as this is the recommended amount of overhead for future expansion.
Regarding your links, did you know you need to copy only the portion of the URL following the double slash marks when entering a link into the http or https dialog box?
Personally, I like your choice of motherboards. I plan to buy that board within the next two weeks myself. Also, Tom's hardware just gave it a top rating at www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20050513/socket_939-17.html

According to that calculator I need 325W. They didn't have a San Diego core there so I guessed with the Venice 3800+. It seems the PSU will be fine to me.

I agree. Before the 6xxx series they sorta sucked where ATi has been pretty good all along. I have used ATi cards forever now, and I want to try out Nvida though.
