well, at least it's good to know...

that in a grim future where the US has been devastated by war or what not, and fascist regimes rule, that Dell is still selling their monitors. somehow. refurbs probably.

Hehe...I noticed that also. :)

now it all makes sense why they're moving everything over to India.

How stupid could they make this??? I really think they just made it to "try" to show off its main star. And they made a big deal about her shaving her head in making it. Oh man, I would not have even shaved my behind for the sake of this film. Lame lame lame!!!
PS. when we entered the theater, we were the ONLY two people in the theater. The only two that watch this. Now THATS a clue you made the wrong movie choice. And I "told" my partner we should have seen the dog movie.....

IT'S. BASED. ON. A. COMIC. BOOK.

LOL!!! Since when do movies resemble the books on which they are based?

This movie blatantly said that the US was responsible for the state of their goverment and the rest of the world. If you missed that, you need to watch the movie again. I'm sorry I don't have clips for you, but you'll want to revise your statement the next time you watch the movie or look extremely silly.

Uh, I'm pretty sure Creedy stated those not of true faith, conviction and conformity were the cause of strife. Hence the concentration camps for religious, racial, and sexual minorites.
They want you to believe that true conservative religious people are taught to hate sinners. It's not true. Hate and murder are the opposite of love and forgiveness. Christians are supposed to use Jesus as their example for how to act.

No they just hate gay people and people who don't believe in Christ.

Who are you to say anything about what the film wants you to believe? Do you have any proof this is what they wanted? Link me an article/video from the writer or director saying this is what they wanted the film to mean and the people they wanted to tick off. I think you are just mad because in today's republican party this hits all too close to home. I actually have to think about it for a second who is a prominent republican and not corrupt, uhhhhhhh.::confused:

Who is a prominent politition and not corrupt ?

Again, you need to read up on fascism. Completely fictional? Read up on Germany's National Socialist Worker's Party circa 1933-1945.
Fascism is a leftist movement. A collectivist movement by definition.

False. Fascism is in response to the leftist movements. In Germany, Fascism rose up in response to the Communists/leftists. They called themselves the National Socialist sort of to confuse people, sort of to pretend they had a broad base. They did not. Fascism is as extreme right-wing as it comes.

Once you start getting far into the authoritarian category the lines seem sort of blurred. The Nazis had nearly full control of the German economy which is very leftist. They also restricted civil rights which is more right-wing.

There wasn't too much difference between Stalinism and Nazism really. The Nazis did allow people to be paid different wages but aside from that it was quite socialist.

As a lover of movies, photography, music, special effects, and explosives/fireworks - and as a conservative Chrisitian - I can honestly say that this is a well-made movie.

Yes, it does have an anti-war, anti-white anglo saxon protestant message. Remember that most of us with access to this forum live in free countries (unlike the one depicted in the movie) where opinions and speech are protected. While I may disagree with those anti-USA anti-war anti-conservatism anti-religion points of the movie, the basic themes of government and revolution and freedom are important reminders.

The movie could very easily be redone in Arabic and serve as a rally against the oppressive, corrupt, religious-perverse governments in Iraq (during Sadam's reign), Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan. It is quite possible that people in those countries could have access to this movie, due to the current US' beneficial presence there, and get a very positive message from it.

As for the concern of impressionable audiences: the teenage girl sitting beside me was more interested in her cell phone voicemail and text messages.. so much to the distraction of me, that I had to ask her to turn it off.

it was a good solid movie, I was pleasantly surprised since I hate the Matrix movies and despise Natalie Portman

in an era of movies that are less than zero it stands out, but it has been a bad year on that score

separate conservative from Xian pyschos if you are able original poster

I saw it today and liked it very much. Strongly recommend to anyone.

Spoiler**********

I was especially moved when Portman character read the letters while she was in prison.

Hollywood need to make more movies like this instead of the old tired recycle sequels.

The movie did come a bit too close in reality we are facing right now...such as war, hate, scapegoats, terrorists, worldwide plaques, government control.

Oh one more thing, I SURELY LOVE the Benny Hill inspired scence with the chancellor, so funny, even with Benny Hill theme and chase scence.

agreed that Hollywood needs to put a hold on the sequels, but come on, the lesbian scene? that was beyond sappy. "and that's when i met ruth, and we kissed among a sea of roses until the sun came up." ugh, gag me.

The first one was good but not the sequels. The last one was awful.

It was meant to be poetic. You badly paraphrased it. The rest of us enjoyed it more than you.
