I was under the impression that you can't go negative on your debit card and still make purchases...unless it has a VISA or MASTERCARD logo on it as well. And if it does, then once your debit (ie checking acct.) is zero, then it automatically charges the purchase to the card like it's a credit card, not a debit card.
