A friend of mine wanted to install a new hard drive in his system.
So he bought a brandnew harddrive and started installing.

1st he fdisk the disk making a primary dos partition
2nd he format the drive
after formating he started installing windows ME but he always got an error that he had some file missing. So i told him to bring over the machine.

I did the same thing
I Fdisked the drive for a primary dos partition then reset the computer and then format the C:\ first it format the whole drive but reset itself automaticly which i thought was odd because it did not give me a choice to lable the drive as it should...

so i tried installing winME again and it did the same problem saying that it did not find the file...

so i did the same thing over fdisk and fromat but this time it stoped at ahout 11% and just hung...
I am thinking it either the harddrive or a boot virus..
so i had him exchange the hard drive and it did the same thing..

So is this a boot virus or somthing else?
 
this should go into different forums. this is HOT deal forum. YOur fried PC is not a hot deal to many of us.
 
What are you doing here? You know this forum is called Hot Deals. I mean, you must have gone to the forums index page and clicked on the link that says "Hot Deals." So you must have seen it's called "Hot Deals" and YET you still posted here.
