I drilled a hole in the pantry of the messhall that pointed to the quarter deck that when the lights were off gave an upside down view like a projector (in port) and i could see when the captain left, he wouldnt let anyone leave before him, everyone thought I was psychic because I was never more than 20 seconds behind him lol

ROFL!!!! That's awesome!

Yup it was great thank god only 2 folks ever knew I drilled it , something about destruction of government property and integrity of the ship and all

You could have hid it with monkey sh!t. 🙂 And would have preserved the integrity as well. They say it does anyway. hehe

LOL hahaha

FYI I injured my back lifting an anchor chain off a BM3 Bedows foot, We let go anchor and it didnt release but it fell on his foot, I picked up 4 90 lb linksd to free him but couldnt stand back up. when they grabbed me and pulled me clear the chain let go.

I spent the remainder of my time on light duty.

But the best part was I got out april 1 1988 Playing Twisted sisters we aint gonna take it on a boom box full blast off the brow!

What's this thread about again? 😕

Ok I owe a bit here

I had bad eyesight , still do.

I wanted to Strike out of the operation specialist rank (blue and red lights gave me severe headaches).

They blew off every request, i was heavily sedated during the 6 months this took.

I did the books and pars for 32 different rates in the navy and they refused to acknowledge any op them. So being the jerk i was I studied the navy regs

I found that I could use their words against them as well

A clean and pressed uniform didnt say painted dungarees were not clean.

They used every loophole for that 6 months to keep me in the os rate.

Its also where i got my disability but they refused to diagnose it.

Wow... I stayed an E3 for 1.5 years, instead of the normal 6 months, because I refused to do my pars. Then they told me that I didn't have to do the PARS to take the IC3 test. Made it on my first try. Made it again on my first try for E5. Took me 3 or 4 tries to make IC1 though--would have been one less, but they screwed me out of it while I was at school.

You know, I'm still not sure if I'm bitter about getitng out (or if I'm justified in being bitter) the way I did. One of life's mysteries I guess. But upon thinking about it now, I really did make out like a bandit. 😎

Woah! for you my friend. That takes some balls. And those damn things are scary. We lost our anchor off the cost of Ireland (gold anchor too! LOL). We seen the bos'n mates running like hell clearing out of the chain room. That loose end of chain came through, and it tore the crap out of the place on it's way out.

I was the same way but so glad I left and I wont say that I would have appreciated a medical discharge (they gave one to a guy who got sunburnt lol) but I will say I would have landed in the brig before much longer lol
