But: the house still stands, my woman still loves me (she said so), the cats are cuddly and the tea tastes just great ... :D

Thats just cruel, I hope he feels better soon too!

She got so mad and beat up both guys (they had to let her go when done with the hair cut). According to a teacher, who saw the last part of the drama, it took her less than 10 seconds to accomplish her part in the violence - she has 5 years of matial arts training. This will cause a lot of problems ... and - for good or bad - I am proud of her.
I hope they get a haircut to match, AND GO GIRL!!!! Teach them brats some manners!!!!

Ouch, I hope she feels better soon too!

None of this should happen...
:([/quote]AMEN!

I hope things get brighter soon peter and

[parts of] This thread can be hard to ignore... I'm sorry to hear of the troubles, Peter. May your children get to feeling better soon, and hopefully no one (except those other rectums who deserve it) will get in trouble.

With that said, given that it is my duty, I must continue to ignore this thread as I again retire to sleep. :moon:

Well the girls are better - the "bug" has run most of it's course and a skilfull hairdresser has helped a lot ... middle daughter now looks very well and cool.
My son sleeps calmly and I am sitting at my computer - much less tired after some 6½ hours sleep - writing a lecture.
Yesterday has passed and today is a new day. :)

You are right!

I had just spent a half day in the Brier Patch re-routing coax and adding a splitter so I could watch TV on my X1900 AIW. That took a toll on my knees.

The TV audio would suffer intermittent seizures and I'd be forced to re-boot. Another couple of hours to troubleshoot and repair.

Then I re-installed Apache and my web site. It would work locally, only. I couldn't find my notes about editing the DNS, so a couple more hours to get that fixed.

I then installed Tomcat and it worked like a champ.

I then installed webMathematica and got that working (except for the Java.)

However, when I installed the Java SDK appserver, everything went belly-up. Tomcat still works. Apache and everything else doesn't work.

So, I decided to spend the rest of the day being funny. That didn't work either.

Today is a new day and I feel quite perky and am looking forward to troubleshooting the day away.

Something is amiss!

ProviaFan posted a couple of hours ago and was shown as the last poster, but his post didn't show up until I posted. This happened on the previous page also. We may be overtaxing the software with this fine thread.:D

It may be borked,
Or so they say.
But this thread just
won't go away.

It should've been deleted,
Instead it was mistreated
It hasn't been completed,
Our Fort won't be defeated.

It can be construed as being a bore,
But this thread I must ignore,
Join me I beg, I do implore!

If you are ignoring this thread, you won't notice that my 3 semesters of Poetry and Composition were wasted.

Ignoring this thread does not vex
It is quite lonely, one easily detects
Ignoring this thread is like ...
Though it feels good, the forum software it wrecks.

I booted up my laptop at work this morning (Dell Inspiron 4100 purchased in 2001) only to be greated with BIOS beeps, and the dreaded ***Missing Operating System*** Press F1 to Try Again or F2 for Settings.

This was the third hard drive in the thing, the first two were IBM Death Stars (or whatever the 2.5" variants were called) and the current borked one was a Toshiba.

I'm placing an order for a new one tomorrow.

Back to ignoring...

A new hard drive or laptop? Sorry to hear about the issues. I think the heat in laptops kills the hard drives so far--it seems to be a very common issue.
