Pizza (hand tossed with onions, bacon, and extra cheese) for breakfast is a wonderful thing to not ignore. :D

Today I will be accepting a job offer and will be moving to Chicago (Rolling Meadows) from Columbus, where we've lived for the last 23 years. Big change, but a lot more $$ and much better benefits (quite important as you get older and things start wearing out :Q ).

So I'm still officially ignoring this thread. I do wonder if I can ignore this thread as efficiently in Chicago as I do here......

;)
:D

Are you moving to Chicago or the burbs?

Chicago makes me queasy. I can't go deer hunting in Chicago!

Most big cities have a zoo!:D

Most Zoos frown upon shotgun toting outdoorsmen.

I've never seen deer in a zoo. Seen them in the yard a lot, but never at a zoo. Must be a northerner thing. ;)

I don't know that I've ever seen a deer in a Zoo either.

I prefer them in my freezer anyhow :p

Here in Washington State, there are deer farms. They may frown on gun toting hunters, too.

Are you implying I'm a nimrod?

I used the proper noun. I didn't know the word had picked up new meaning.

I'm sorry for the unintentional slur.

LOL, I thought you just mis-capitalized. I had no idea there was "a great hunter" named Nimrod.

I think Rolling Meadows is considered the 'Burbs, but you have to go a lot farther out to get into hunting areas. Look up zip code 60008 on your map. :)

/back to officially ignoring this thread. :)

It's considered a Northwest Suburb. There are a lot of great steak houses in downtown Chicago. Chicago Prime, Mortons, Gibsons.

Oh, and there are deer in Rolling Meadows. Though, you'd have to go about a half hour north if you want to shoot em w/o being arrested. :p

LoL,

We do not have a deer problem where I live -
we have a reindeer problem.
These animals are so dumb, that when they see a car approaching the just stay put and let themselves be run over. In winter they use the roads for faster walking and there is no way you can chase them off ...
I'll prefer a deer any time - they at least have a sound survival instinct.
The meat tasts also better ... IMHO.

In Alaska there was a bison named "Butch" who would take over the ALCAN Highway in the winter. He would charge anything that moved. He totaled numerous cars before he met his demise when he totaled an 18-wheeler.:D

Hmmm, thats why you rake the leaves up first, then shoot the deer and b ury the gun in the leaves.Gut, skin and quarter the deer and have it in the freezer before the cops get there (gamewardens tend to reside outside the city limits and taker longer to appear) Do this in broad daylight and no one will be the wiser lol at night they might use dogs to find what happened;)
