Dug, how many times have I said that you can't go wrong with either product if it fits? Christ, just the other day I recommended you get a dual slot 4850. Did I try to hustle you into buying and equivalent Nvidia card? NO! Your whole gripe is not about what we say. But who we are. It has to be because, with the exception of Wreckage, we do try to post the most facts as possbile, run benchmarks, answer questions if we can. What is the big deal? I say what any other member is free to say on these forums. The only problem you can possibly have, is that we belong to this group. Am I wrong? Some of the threads get heated, that is for certain, but in case you haven't noticed, Anandtech video forum ATI fans outnumber Nvidia fans at least 2:1. At least! What is beyond a joke is threads like this one that continually berate focus group members, JUST for being focus group members. Our comments aren't different from any other posters in that forum no matter which vendor they prefer.
This latest "uprising" in video is for two reasons and two reasons only.
1. The main reason. Physx. It is a big deal, and if you look across the web at all the reviews released on August 6th about it, you can see that this is an accurate statement. It's a big deal.
When I try to discuss it, I get hammered by ATI fans saying it's nothing, or anything else they can come up with to downplay it. Of course this leads to endless debates/arguments and some get heated. I started a GPU Physx thread with a ton of benches in it, and the very first poster is a known ATI fan giving me a hard time. They do not relent.
2. ATI finally has some kick ass products and is now UBER competitive. ATI fans have awakened from a long quiet slumber or hibernation and are full of piss and vigor. I can't blame them, they waited quite a while for the good stuff. But it's too much.
