Please critique my website

You are going to get shit here for the flash banner at the top but I must say it's really a very nice looking site overall. Not much for me to say about it. I like it.
 
I think it looks pretty good overall, but I almost had a seizure with the flash banner changing every half-second. I think it needs to be either twice the speed, or much slower and keep cycling. I like the idea of cycling the pictures and ending on your logo, but I think it takes too long...unless the seizures mesmerize them.
 
After looking at it more closely the only thing I can come up with is just nit picking. I tend to dislike the use of frames. Also I would try if possible to stay away from using tables as a site layout tool and try and use only DIV and SPAN elements. However that's being far too picky.

Oh and it seems not every page has a DOC Type declaration which they all should.
 
it's better than my only attempt. Some how my Grandpa got it in his head that I was a super web designer when I could barely navigate Frontpage '97.
 
- Ditch the splash page
- Make the images into actual text, it's virtually unsearchable as it is
- Bigger fonts
- Slow down the photo cycling
- No frames
- Lose the guestbook link, no one will use it anyway.

The design is nice but there are some semi-major issues.

the fact that you have an 'entrance' page pisses me off, that would make me not even want to look at your site.

also that banner switches pictures like 1093 times a second, a little too fast.
 
Splash page = annoying
Flash pictures = seizure fast
Embedding all your content in pictures = fail

The text in your pictures is a pretty major issue. Your site is effectively broken for anyone using a screen reader due to disabilities, not to mention search engines have no idea WTF your page is about.
If you are dead set on using the pictures to contain your text at least use alt text to contain the text as well so search engines and screen readers can at least do something.
 
Needs more white people...or maybe less. :hmm:

Those pictures cycle way too fast, I feel like I am going to ave a seizure after watchign that. Other than those two gripes, it looks very good.

flash banner is WAY too fast

I could also use a font size increase on both the links at the top and the overall site. Other than that though it looks good
