I've started a site, and it just a few web pages with a forum as its core. I tried to go for the clean look, and the layout is obviously not an original one.

Are there any things you can think of to spice it up a bit, while retaining that clean look and still allowing for reltively low bandidth access? Running flash huge animations would turn away many people with 56k modems......

Thanks a bunch.

Minimal CSS, I like it more then many other sites posted on here.
Keep the minimal idea going, busy html is just whack.

ugh :disgust: frames ????

you know you could've achieved that result (a box w/ scrollbars) using CSS ??
& why not try making your site re-sizable

Wow, very nice compared to some of what I've been seeing lately. I like the color tones - they seem so...quiet.

I don't know what else to say - nice blend of content, it's easy to navigate, everything loads quickly - nice job!

Two things I noticed right away:

Your pics are dithering really bad.
The nav buttons at the top don't go very well with the rest of the layout.

Otherwise not bad.

Another thing: provide a link back to the main page from within the forum main page. I couldn't find one.

thanks for the compliment. I knew there must be a way to have it come together without frames, but am not sure how.

I like the way the scroll works on that window only, but i only achieved that with frames.

Would anyone mind reworkign it into CSS, if it's not too much trouble.

I don't even know what CSS is 🙂

And the resizability is something I can't quite figure out. I assume its using width in percentages as opposed to absolute dimensions, but when i do that. Everything falls out sync.

I appreciate all the help!

Tauren. YOu are right...the nav baro n the top of the forum is really bad. I haven't got aroudn to doing it yet. Vbulletin isn't the easiest to work HTML around - but that could also be because I suck. 🙂

Really curious about what css is.
