Please check if these parts are compatible.

I am building a computer after *counts it, 5 years* and i am soo confused about the whole new sockets, and number of pins in memory.
So i wanted to get someone knowledgable (aka someone from this forum) to check if these parts will all fit together.
I am somewhat concerned if the mobo and psu and case are the same atx or matx (i have no clue how it works)
CPU: http://www.ncix.com/products/i...OX&manufacture=AMD
Mobo: http://www.ncix.com/products/i...E&manufacture=ASUS
GPU: http://www.ncix.com/products/i...e=CHAINTECH%20COMPUTER
Cpu cooler: http://www.ncix.com/products/i...anufacture=THERMALTAKE
PSU: http://www.ncix.com/products/i...anufacture=THERMALTAKE
Case: http://www.tradexinfo.com/2750.htm
Ram i can't find a link. Kingston 184pin PC3200 512MB (times 2)

Thanks a ton for helping out an old geezer.

Looks like it will all work together - good parts, all socket 939 and ATX. "Mini tower" just means smaller than a monster tower, but still fits full-size ATX mobos and PSUs (no mATX in your list I can see).

You did notice the 6600GT is out of stock, right? It's the best card in that price range once they get in some more.

If you can't wait, a plain 6800 should be around $50 USD more. Gigabyte has a nice one with silent cooling for $300 USD, no idea what the price is up there.

Your parts are fine, but $295 is WAY too much to pay for a 6600GT, especially when they don't even have them in stock. You should be able to get a 6600GT AGP for about $225-235 shipped. Shoot, for $300 you can have a vanilla 6800! Haven't checked the prices on the other parts, but I'd shop around and check out the Hot Deals forum.

I mistyped, it's actually a "mid-" tower not "mini-" and definitely not a "micro-atx / matx" (which I agree can be annoying to work with). Mini towers are fine.

I do like Antec cases better (especially the SLK3700AMB and Sonata) but this one looks fine.

Oh and Rike you missed the maple leaves 🙂

THanks for all your helps, i'll see if i can get a cheap 6800..damn didn't notice that it was out of stock.
I will be running around the city picking it up by hand from the ncix store, i don't wanna dish out on shipping.

Thanks again for all your help.

😱

/sulks back too his corner and reads his own sig. :disgust: & :| to self/

I think I'll just log off for now before I hurt myself.

I am looking into cpu cooler, and it says it works with k8, but not with k7 mobo that doesn't have mountin holes...
this is a K8 right? i tried doing some search on google, but can't find a place where it explicitly explains which cpus are k7 and which k8.

This mobo that i am looking at, i just read the manual, it apparently needs an extra four male molex type thing into the mobo for extra cpu power, i have a link to the PSU http://www.thermaltake.com/pur...v480/w004344twv480.htm Does this have that extra, or do i not need it? Or a four to eight pin adaptor should do it?

THanks

In spite of the fact that I can't tell Canadian dollars from U.S. dollars, I do know that the A64 is a K8. If you plan on OCing, the Thermalright XP-90 is a great heatsink. If you aren't planing on OCing, just buy an A64 in a retail box (I think that's what you had listed above). It will come with a heatsink and fan that will work just fine.
