Well, only if it is one of the few games that support online play. I notice that there might be a free coupon for Tisted Metal:Black with this item.

There is indeed a coupon for a free TM-Black-Online that comes w/ this adapter but I believe it needs to be postmarked by 12/31.
There are also lots of people online playing Tony4 - I play online almost every night.
I host a server named Frodo if any of you want to join me (I very rarely pswd protect it when me and a buddy play so if you run into to it requiring a pwd just come back another night)
Madden 2003 also uses this but costs additional money.
Next quarter, Resident Evil and Final Fantasy will enter the online foray

Madden 2003 does not cost additional money to play online. Also with online play are NBA2K3, NBA Live 2003, NFL2K3, Frequency, SOCOM, and ATV Offroad 2 just to name a few.

You just choose to host a game instead of joining someone else's and other people are then run on your connection
You would still turn the PS2 off when you were done playing
Leaving it on won't help as the host chooses the game type and length etc. so everyone would just be chillin' in free skate if the host was not actively participating (unless there is some way that you can allow clients to control this which I am not aware of)

Linksys USB Network 100TX works great also...and it's cheaper if you buy it secondhand. (paid $15 for mine on ebay)

That is a good solution and I think you can get one for at little as $25 when you find a hot deal.
