Playstation SVP of Engineering caught being a pedo!

Yes it's bad, but I'm not sure I fully trust everything coming from an "amateur" sting operation. Their goal isn't law enforcement, their goal is increasing revenue from clicks and streams. That said, I'm not sure if there's a better way for local LE to catch pedos? FBI is focused on the larger networks/rings doing human trafficking, content trafficking etc. and so this guy likely slips through the radar.

I guess if he's already fired, Sony either vetted some of the incident details or else decided they just need to cut off all ties.

Yup and I avoided clicking on any links back to their site.

I did see this little tidbit from kotaku

Meanwhile, a representative from People v. Preds tells Kotaku that the reason this information was released publicly, rather than handed directly to authorities, was that, “The police department doesn’t work with ‘Cyber groups’ like us. That’s when the internet takes over.” However, they also say that “evidence has been turned into the authorities.”

No pitchforks or bandwagons for me.

OP,
Keeps us updated in case this turns out to be something tangible.

Yeah, I don't care for vigilantes regardless of their target.

I went and read some of the Dateline transcripts back in the day. Almost all of them seemed like entrapment to me. Sure the guys still showed up, but many guys would show up for anyone offering/begging for sex.
