nvidia first to market with DX11 GPUs?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well let's take bets.

I say Oct 24th for the Gt300 and Dec 14th for the 58xx. Wreckage lost his bets. I on the other hand was pretty much spot on .

It's the exact same story from the exact same original source.
How does that compare to developments on Fermi over the course of 9 months?
Sure, the Fermi situation is pretty much as it was 9 months ago, but with new stories to confer/deny/spread more rumours/indicate performance.

This is the EXACT SAME STORY from the SAME SOURCE.
Sure, in one case it has gone through a couple of filters on the way, but the original source for the story is the same, it's the same story based on the same single rumour from one site which hasn't been developed on further in the intervening time.

Its really not new news. its hype . Same as this imagination tech retopic. If you look at the link . The story was about NV beating ATI to DX11 release . Thats wasn't news just hype . When we get real reviews . That will be NEWS. Everthing else is hype and NV does hype better than anyone on earth.

I've been keeping an eye on PowerVR since the beagleboard using an ARM cpu with PowerVR graphics. It amazed me that something so small and low power could do so much. Programming for it is really easy to do too. The advantage of PowerVR in the embedded market has been that they don't have to be compatible with things like directx. They made the features and designed it based on what the market needed without being held back.

I just got an email from them the other day:
At GDC we will be showing as a sponsor of GDC Mobile as well as on a larger stand at the GDC exhibition on booth number 705. On Wednesday night we are holding a party to celebrate shipping over 250,000,000 products, so make sure you visit us early to get a ticket to the party. Of those quarter of a billion products sold with POWERVR graphics technologies, more than 50 phones already use our OpenGL ES 2.0 shader-based POWERVR SGX technology. At GDC we will be distributing a new brochure, which gives developers a convenient overview of the most important phones in the market featuring our graphics acceleration.

We’ve also just released issue 14 of the POWERVR Insider newsletter, with more on the above topics and more on optimization strategies for games.

There is no mention of anything except the embedded market.
