I don't see the free controller anymore on CC's website, and I didn't see that anybody has brought that up yet. Can anybody confirm that this has been removed, or am I just not seeing it?

I was seriously considering it, but not without the free controller.

Thanks in advance!

I got the free controller on Saturday, think the deal ended as of close Saturday tho, like most ad based deals.

Good deal tho, I picked up the PS3, free controller, Enchanted Arms, and Casino Royale on BD.

A little concerned that the PS3 froze up about 20 minutes into Enchanted Arms, hopefully it was just a fluke tho, unfortunately, it's the only game I have to test except the Gran Turismo HD download. I know most people have had zero problems, so if it happens again, I'll probably take it back to be exchanged for another units.

Casino Royale on BD was awesome tho, sending in my deal for the 5 free movies today, not the best movies ever, but there are some decent ones included.

thought about jumping on this, but then realized that I don't really want to play any PS 3 games.

Also, I heard a rumor that when the stock of the 60g goes out, the 80g will drop 100 dollars to the 60g price to take over for it.

There are a lot of rumors in relation to the PS3, one is that they will release a version for $400 that offers no backwards compatibility with PS1/PS2 games, which I don't believe for a second. I also don't believe they'll drop the 80GB version to $499 anytime soon, but the 80GB version comes sans Emotion chip, which means all PS1/PS2 emulation will be done via software emulation. Personally, there are a lot of PS1 and PS2 titles I still enjoy playing, and it's nice to have one system to play them all instead of 3 systems to juggle.

I'll agree tho, not much as far as PS3 titles right now that appeal to me. I do like the BluRay movies tho, and like the ability to stream most video types from my PC to the PS3 using Nero Home.

I'll be keeping mine, it's pretty cool.

Yes, you can use USB drives too.

Wow, that's a great feature! From what I understand the Xbox360 can't do this.

I havent gotten a single problem at all. One issue I did get but this was of my own..

I originally config'ed my system on a 56 inch 1080p display,

after i moved and went down to a 1080i I got "invalid format" and there was no way, at the time, for me to figure out how to clear that.

I had to go back and adjust it on the 56 inch miles away.

Other than that, no issues at all. Its a very stable console and I enjoy it.

The deal rocks. Throw in that Sony Chase $100 and your set

Why is this still posted as if the deal was alive? It died...change the title and let it rest lol.

There are plenty of deals that end and people talk about them for weeks after, exchanging stories and questions, it's part of the fun of visiting the Hot Deals forum IMO. I like to share my own experiences and read others.

Not sure what the big deal is, relax yourself.

You can do a hard reset of the PS3 by holding down some combination of buttons for a certain period of time. It's in the manual. I had to do it the first night I got mine. It clears out the settings.

That is correct. However most topics get edited with an *DEAD* so people don't think the deal's still alive. Not a big deal, just suggesting the op put that in his title.

Good deal. Would be a great deal if most of the movie choices did not suck.

That's because it's still alive! You have until September 30 to buy a PS3 and get the movies. And it's not just valid on the PS3, you can buy any "eligible" Blu-ray player and get the movies. (Form doesn't say which are eligible.)

Title says: PlayStation 3 (PS3) 60GB + Wireless Controller + 5 Blu-ray movies = $500 at Circuit City

Last I checked, the Wireless controller is no longer included, hence, dead deal.

The 360 can do this. You can't store profiles on it, but all your media and saves can go to it.

That is correct...however the free wireless controller isn't. The Blu-ray offer has been around for awhile whereas the free wireless controller hasn't. The controller made me jump on this deal.

The 360 can read USB drives, but it can't write to them.

I just bought a PS3 from Best Buy! It's my first game console. I'm mostly a PC gamer so even if the current games don't catch my fancy at the very least I got myself a first rate up-converting DVD player, a fantastic Blu-Ray player, and multi-media center. And later if there are games that catch my fancy, then I got myself a great gaming system too! The ironic thing is that I think the current games on the Xbox 360 look more promising and I think the learning curve on programming the PS3 is a little steeper so it will take longer for better games to come out for it.

I do have one regret about buying the PS3 and this happens with every expensive electronics equipment I buy. I was offered a 2 year service plan and I declined. But now I'm wondering if I should have gotten it because the PS3 is probably the most complex piece of consumer electronics equipment I own and I would hate it if it breaks down during the next 2 years. But I heard that the PS3 has very good reliability so I'm hoping I won't need it.

So, what's the consensus about buying a service plan with the PS3? Is it something that I should have gotten?

Uh...this was a hot deals from Circuit City dude...

But...eh...that's only something you can decide...and BB would be more than happy to hook you up with the plan if you want it now.
