Here I have to note that Sony has denied this price drop, but I've seen statements to the contrary as well. I guess we'll see in a week, just wanted to give a heads up.
 
The PS3 is a good deal overall and it isn't ripping you off. At $500, it can play Blu-Ray and just about any type of media you can find with the bonus of playing high end video games. For $500, it's easily one of the best entertainment values you can buy if you are into Playstation games and movies.

With all the hate the PS3 is getting, it's a very nice machine and Sony is selling it at a huge loss so that means you are getting your worth.

Since most will still be uncompelled at its $500, myself included, all it means is the technology it's passing off is shamelessly overpriced to begin with, namely blue-ray who nobody in the world cares about now or will any time soon (dito on HD).
 
The games are pants...wheres GT5 or Tekken online?!!

overpriced hunk of junk. not a single game out there that is worth paying $500 for the damn thing.
