I can't decide. I am on the fence between a 360 and PS3. If the v2 rumor would have been real, then the decision was easy. Since it was vaporware, it is more difficult.
1080p works over VGA. It also works over component. While my TV (VizioVP42HDTV) isn't a 1080p display, it will accept (and then downscale) the signal over both of those inputs, so I've seen it work.Originally posted by: MacAttack

Does anybody care if you care where we have or haven't seen PS3's? Stop reading the thread if you don't care.
I was just commenting on how I believe Sony screwed up by trying to force its next-gen proprietary Blu-Ray technology on everybody who buys its console.

Even if the rumors were true, would you really need HDMI?
IMO, First and foremost, get a Wii if you can find one (unless you don't want one). Get a 360 if the games are appealing to you. Get a PS3 if/when the price drops by $200 and they have some more games out.
Plenty of 360's in stock. Lots of hot deals going around on hardware and software. Notsomuch in the hot deals area with the Wii, but that's only because it's brand-spankin' new.
