Someone said earlier that girls ask him to bring his wii over. So, the wii may get your wii wii some bootii. Something the PS3 will never do.

I was at Walmart on Sunday, they had 3 of the 20GB models and 6 of the 60GB models. Everywhere else locally is out of stock of the PS3 and the Wiis, Walmart doesn't even have any of those.

Price has alot to do with it, there were heaps of 360s, but that was to be expected. PS2s ironically were all sold out.

plenty to go around in my local Target and Circuit City

not to mention this. its actually AVAILABLE ONLINE without a bundle and at my local CC store (queens, nyc)
http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=166283
those still interested at a ps3 should get one from cc. they let you check local stock and buy. so does bestbuy.

there is no demand to go with the supply. the supply for the wii is more than ps3 and wii is still sold out almost everywhere. sony must be shuffling now

I can't decide. I am on the fence between a 360 and PS3. If the v2 rumor would have been real, then the decision was easy. Since it was vaporware, it is more difficult.

yeah, I was at the walmart here in North Raleigh, NC and they are sitting right inside the glass in the electronics section for the past week or so. No one trying to pick them up either. Price is just way to high for blu-ray which doesnt seem to be flying to well vs HD-DVD....

Just because it hasn't been officially announced yet doesn't mean it isn't coming. I'd bet my fiance on it. :p

1080p works over VGA. It also works over component. While my TV (VizioVP42HDTV) isn't a 1080p display, it will accept (and then downscale) the signal over both of those inputs, so I've seen it work.

Even if the rumors were true, would you really need HDMI?

IMO, First and foremost, get a Wii if you can find one (unless you don't want one). Get a 360 if the games are appealing to you. Get a PS3 if/when the price drops by $200 and they have some more games out.

Plenty of 360's in stock. Lots of hot deals going around on hardware and software. Notsomuch in the hot deals area with the Wii, but that's only because it's brand-spankin' new.

Don't forget there are quite a few Gamecube games that are definitely worth buying - and they're cheap too!

sony screwed up by trying to shove blu-ray technology down our throats. i don't buy consoles to watch movies on. i am not ready to adopt a new dvd standard yet. they could have had a blu-ray add-on that i could choose to buy and reduce the price of the gaming system.

there are plenty of PS3's around my area, but i can't find a wii anywhere. it seems that is true of most places now. maybe sony will get the hint.

Does anybody care if you care where we have or haven't seen PS3's? Stop reading the thread if you don't care.

I was just commenting on how I believe Sony screwed up by trying to force its next-gen proprietary Blu-Ray technology on everybody who buys its console.

I think that this format can still come up big in the future, but I think it's highly unlikely that we'll ever "need" BR disks for games.

Am I the only one that thinks this situation is hilarious? People bragged to me about how PS3 wouldn't be available for another year, I'm so glad I didn't get a PS3 when I had the chance.

I have a Sony KDF55FX HDTV. (No I am not a Sony fanboy). I looked at the available HDs two years ago while making my decision. It was between Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Samsung and Sony. The issue with all three of the other models was the glare from the glare from the mirrored screen.

All I can say is that I see a distinct picture quality difference between my component and HDMI cable. My comps are FAR better than monster cables (I rented Monster cables from BB and proved mine were better quality) and my HDMI are standard high quality (paid $20 for a 6'). There is no way any component cable can produce the clarity of my HDMI cable. I just don't think it is possible with an analog cable.

Here are part of my argument points why I have not decided:
1. PS3: It has HDMI digital interface
2. PS3: Potential with Linux installations to become a media center
3. XBox: More games right now and Mass Effect coming
4. XBox: I have it sitting in my garage waiting for me to make a decision to keep it.
5. XBox: XBox Live

I think I am convincing my self to wait several more months

If you check in your email, you might have gotten an email from Best Buy that has a 10% off coupon that works online only...

But one thing you can't use the coupon on is video game hardware.

BUT...

I tried the coupon out on an Xbox360 and it took off $40 from the cart! WOOT! So...I guess there's a flaw in the system. This PS3 deal would have been hot if the PS3s were still in stock...

I guess people found out about the coupon exploit on the PS3...so that's why they were sold out...

$60 off a PS3, anyone?

The 10th of January is the last day to use the coupon...NICE!
