it wont cost 800 to make. those prices will go down by the time sony actually releases the thing, and especially since they will be buying in INSANE bulk quantities. im sure sony will be getting some nice deals...wonder what the discount is when buying in MILLIONS

Graphics aren't everything. I would play Blackthorne or the original Warcraft before I played a fighting game.

You are correct that they aren't "everything"... But they are definitely a piece of the puzzle.

you can't touch any PC games either until you fork over the money to buy a $300 video card plus a fast CPU, expensive mobo, and some ram.
Actually, a $120-$150 video card does fine. You could probably build a whole system to play any game for $800.

I never said a $120-$150 video card would give the bestest graphics evar!!11!one1!
I said a $120-$150 graphics card would be fine to play any game. I didn't say anything about graphics settings.

A very small insignificant piece. As long as there's great gameplay, the graphics could be from the 8-bit era. That's why I'll gladly play Marathon over Halo or Warcraft II over Warcraft III.

If that is really true, and not hyperbole, then I hope you realize that you are very much in the minority.

Indeed it is true. While I am playing Far Cry right now, just a month ago I was enjoying Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny and Marathon: Rubicon.

..... not really. if you want 10,000 FPS, sure. but i play COD2 at 1280x1024 fine, granted there are some instances when i get framelag. my system total, monitor included, probably would cost ~$700

My 9200 plays all good PC games fine. Yeah, it probably wouldn't play Quake IV or Doom 3, but who cares if the gameplay sucks?
******. My 9800pro won't even play Quake IV.

Never played it. If it's anything like Super Mario Party then yeah, those types of games can be pretty fun with a group of friends. So can Monopoly or Go Fish.

A 160GB hard drive can be bought for about $70, which still isn't that much. Never played Res IV, but the first couple were pretty similar.

heh no point in argueing. not going to get it.

both have there place and uses. console games are great for dedicated gameing. they are also far cheaper then a computer. But a computer is far more usefull then a ps3

Stop lying to yourself. Monopoly is not a fun game.

Even if you think you liked the game, you didn't. And it's simple why. Ready? Cause this is anybody here 2 1/2 hours into a game of monopoly.

Fvck this game! It's four in the morning grandma! You win! I'm sittin' on Baltic with crap. I'm paying luxury tax out the arse! And I hate when you're the banker, where'd you get the pink 50s you cheating whore!?!? Don't fvcking touch me grandpa, Nana is a cheating whore! And I should cut your head off with this little doggy!

Are you telling me that if I could play an Xbox 360 with a mouse and keyboard, their games wouldn't matter? That's precisely what an Xbox 360 is, a computer made console-friendly, as was all other consoles.

But I will still agree that you can't put a Starcraft game on a console and have it run the same as a computer, it's just not happening.

I just ordered preowned Madden 2004 for PS2 for $3.14 shipped. 🙂 It should be nice change of pace from NFL2k3 I've been playing on my Gamecube.
if the nfl draft wasnt so damn good this year, i wouldnt sweat it. but since i wont be able to watch reggie bush on tv, i can become reggie bush through the game!!!! 😉

Even for dedicated gaming, the PC is great. Even though they may cost two-times the price of a console, the ratio of good to bad games is much better for the PC. Not to mention that most people who play console games don't get only an X-Box, but a Gamecube and PS2 as well.

WTF are you talking about? You're the one bringing up how expensive computers are.

Haha, actually the yelling and arguing is part of the fun. And Monopoly is just an example. There's plenty of fun board games that are roughly on par with console party games.

How did I say anything like that? A mouse and keyboard are advantages to the PC, but the biggest problem is game quality itself.

In what way? Storyline and characters are stolen partly from Marathon. Gameplay is repetitive and basic. Level design is nice in some levels but horrid in most.
