We have lots more feature requests in the works. Next up is:

* Netflix
* Hulu High Resolution

To keep track of what is going on with the Beta, feel free to visit www.themediamall.com/blog and send any feature requests or feedback to support@themediamall.com.

stupid question, but how does sharing on the directv h20 work? does it go from h20 to pc to ps3?

I assume it goes from PC to H20 to TV, unless it just works on the H20 without needing a PC. I don't have DirecTV so I'm not familiar with their receivers and obviously haven't tried this out. They don't have any instructions yet, they just mentioned in the dev blog that users have reported it works with some of those devices.

Here's a thread on their small forum about the H20, but no one really talks about how to set it up.

What kind of playbility are you guys getting? Mine is really slow. It takes forever for it to buffer. My router is a B. Maybe is should upgrade to an N?

At least to a G.

Yep. I had switched my router to G/B (which really means B) so I could play my DS online. When I did that, everything got noticeably buffered on my 360 that is hooked up wirelessly. When it is on G only, the buffering is not noticeable at all.

Your experience may vary though depending on the quality of your wireless connection, interference, speed of internet, etc. (don't you like my disclaimer? 😉)

I'm sure it's like WMP or TVersity, and goes from pc to H20, to tv. Have you tried either? I'm going to try this.

Everything for me seems to work smoothly (maybe a bit long on the buffering sometimes) but I can't seem to find a way to search keywords on youtube.

Is there a way to search keywords through this?

I haven't yet, going to get my h20 setup this weekend. I'll give it a try then and give an update.

Being able to connect to the h20 is mainly for those without a ps3 or xbox360 then? Not sure what you can gain with the h20 connectivity.

Sounds like Netflix support is pretty close:

Hey all you PlayOn testers! Looks like we?ve neglected to post the latest news on our blog here. Sorry about that. We are still cranking away on all kinds of goodies.

We?ve largely spent the past month working on two main projects: 1) fixing problems with Hulu for the majority of our users, and 2) getting Netflix ready for beta release!

We have been working hard to accommodate changes that Hulu has been making in their service recently. If Hulu service issues have been frustrating for you, keep these two things in mind:

We are absolutely, positively committed to bringing Hulu to our PlayOn users. We have simply been having some technical issues.
It?s still a beta, so there are still bugs, that are causing both hiccups with Hulu, as well as other problems in general with PlayOn. We won?t make this product a general release until all this stuff is resolved. We don?t feel comfortable taking your money for a half-baked product. Your satisfaction with PlayOn translates directly to our success as a company.
Now, Netflix! Yes, it is soooo close to being ready for release. We?re literally a few days away. And by golly, it?s cool. We?ve been testing it for a couple of weeks now, and the video quality is tremendous (thanks to Netflix making higher resolution streams available). If you plan on trying it out, make sure you set up an account with Netflix first and add movies to your ?Instant Queue? (this can?t be done through PlayOn, of course). We will post again once Netflix is ready for beta testing.

OK, that?s it for now. Contact us if you have questions, comments, or concerns.

bump to let everyone know Netflix is now up and running

Interesting. I didn't receive an email and there's no update on the dev blog or website other than discussion in their forum. Sounds like it is indeed up and running, though.

Thanx for the update. Will there be any legal issues with Netflix? I don't want to spend $30 and have the Netflix gone.

Man, tried this last night with Netflix and it works awesome! I was actually fairly impressed with the quality. Heroes looked and sounded good. Thanks

Thanks OP! Do you need a hulu account to watch movies? I just tried this for my 360 and works great. very is to set up. Im going to try it on my ps3 later today.

Nope, no Hulu account needed (although they are free 🙂).

Hulu support had been broken lately, but it looks like they fixed it again in this newest release.

I have a Windows Home Server and managed to install WMP 11 on it but, even though Youtube works, Netflix doesn't. Every movie I play says it's "corrupted".

Im having a issue and was wondering if anyone knew. I have my WIFI on my PS3 enabled. When i stream from my wireless laptop it lags. My router is Wireless G and so is my Laptop. As soon as hook it up with the ethernet it works fine. The router is pretty damn close to the ps3 so whats the problem? Wireless G can't handle it?

What's this have to do with PlayOn?

PlayOn has been working pretty good for me. Streaming Hulu to my 50" plasma. Looks decent, too. It's obvious that the video is compressed, but not enough that it's distracting.

:thumbsup: .. might even be worth buying
