playing .wmv on standalones ?

I was just told you could burn a .wmv onto a CDR and it will play on a standalone dvd player.

Is this true ? The .wmv file itself was encoded with WMP9 encoder. Burned with Nero.

Only if the player has a Windows Media Support label on it.

Umm... there's only real way to find out the truth.

I'm not sure which file types play on which dvd players, but if you burn the cd as a video cd or svcd it might work.

See, the thing is even this page doesn't list WMV as an option... so I was never aware ..

Wow... given the nice compression ratio WMV9 provides... I'm all over it. (testing my player now)
