I never realized how good this game looks at max settings, considering it's from 2006. When I played it back then I thought it could only get better but seeing as how most games are consolized now, most look like crap because of the low-res textures.

Take a look at some of these images from IGN:

This game was probably the worst console port seen in the last few years in terms of stability and polish. :p The graphics were generally good, but the thing is that the previous game, Chaos Theory, looked just as good or better (except for maybe the character models) but still ran at around 4x the framerate.

Also, those IGN screenshots seem to be from the console version. I don't recall the PC version having that blur effect.

While I haven't played that game, I can certainly say it's quite nice to revisit older games with newer generation hardware. Often the graphics will amaze you, especially now that you can play them at usable frame rates.

I love rooting through the "bargain bins" (amazon, ebay, etc) to find older games I've not played and see how they run on my system a couple of years after release. Dirt cheap and sometimes you get a real treat. I'm currently having fun with Witcher, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and VampireTM: Bloodlines.

I'm playing this now...just started the Conzumel Ship level! Liking it so far (except for some of the JBA HQ levels), although Pandora Tomorrow continues to be my favorite SC title so far. :)
