Playing Region 3 dvd's on tv

Hi all, i recently got back into watching korean music videos and i was wondering if there was any affordable way that I can watch region 3 dvd's in the states? Any help is appreciated!

try google searching to see if there's a way to making yours region free. i know for a lot of them you open the CD tray and then type in a 4 digit code (or at least for some)

edit: you can also use DVD Shrink if you have a DVD burner

The Philips DVP 642 is region free and it plays DivX.

Used to be available at Walmart.

It is available here in Canada at Walmart and Radio Shack.

If they are single layer DVD-5 dvds then you could rip them and burn them to make them region free. DVDDecrypter does this as well as DVD Shrink.

You can hack you DVD player to be region free. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to talk about that here.

Yea "fixed" a bunch of dvd players because they had a problem with the number 3 written on the cases of my dvd's lol

ALSO you can turn off macrovision I mean fix the error ... whatever

Yep, Walmart still sells these for $80CDN... so that's about $70USD, and like already said, it plays Divx as well.

Another way is to play it with your computer (if you can connect it through TVout)

I don't remember now, are Korean discs in PAL format?

If they are, you'd also have to have a DVD player that can convert from PAL->NTSC reasonably well.

Go here to see if there is a region free hack for you r DVD player.
If there isn't then I'd say make a backup of it and make it region free. Like others have said you can use DVD Decrypter or DVD shrink.
