The developers clearly aren't taking this seriously, and I really like that. This game is absolutely awesome just for being so zany.

And it's a lot of fun.

Ya, its sorta a casual rts and yet I enjoyed it a lot too (being more of a supcom hardcore rts'er). I'll likely buy the downloadable expansion in March.

It's gonna have Gemma Atkinson again, and I think they might of shortened her skirt a bit from the preview video. I can't really complain.

I love RA3. It gets a lot of hate just because it wasn't the most revolutionary and greatest rts of all time like a successor to RA2 should have been, but as a stand alone rts, it's a blast.

Indeed, I also like RA3, and even though it's a product of EA it's still a good game. And after beating it and playing it on-line for some time I can say that my favorite faction is the Soviets, and my favorite campaign is also that of the Soviets, directly in line with my favorites from the original Red Alert along with RA2 as well, but I preferred Yuri's faction in Yuri's Revenge over the Empire in RA3.

hell yea! RA 1&2 was the best... ra3 is kinda over the edge with the random units and the corny storyline... too bad it wasn't made by the same people that designed RA2...

Ust picked up the tin version for $10 from the bestbuy sale. Not sure when I'll get around to trying it; though I wonder how the previous version play under vista 64.

RA3 was okay. The singleplayer campaigns were fun, but I haven't touched it since then. I've gone back to C&C3 many times after that though and find it to be a far superior game.

I hated it. RA1 was a masterpiece, RA2... well the story was likeable enough, shame it didnt carry on from the first realistically but whatever, the gameplay was awesome in RA2. RA3 just has nothing, hasent got the good storyline, hasent got the good gameplay... sucks.

I tried the demo for 5 minutes just to see what's new, graphics looked too cartoony without any shaders and shadows, I'm waiting for my video card to arrive to give it another go.

I don't quite get it. Everytime I see someone putting down RA3, I see them comparing it to RA2 like it was some great game. I could not finish either of the RA2 campaigns, because they couldn't hold my interest long enough. And this is from a person whose all time favorite game was C&C:Tiberian Dawn, with Red Alert being in my top 5.

Maybe there is something I am missing about the game. What was it about RA2 that made it a great game? It has been awhile since I played the game, but I remember explicitly being very disappointed with the game after trying it out.

I tried the beta and demo, I love the idea of team play but found the units too crazy and cartoony. I especially hated how anything could travel on water

I'll bet $10 you were playing as the empire of the rising sun.

The "$10" in your post reminded me:

There is a coupon on SD that makes a handful of PC games, including RA3 (regular and premier ver.), $10. Regular price is $30.

I am not sure, I know I played allies (guys with the helicoptor freeze ray thing) and I believe I played the soviets. Like I said its a little too over the top for me, hopefully they will add the online coop the the next C&C its a great idea.
