They estimate that about 600 millions dollars will be lost in the first two day on productivity for people calling in sick to go see Star Wars.

NY Post Story

Everytime Star Wars comes out the same reports come up.

$600 million dollars? That's nice round number...makes me question it based on that alone.

The movie is what, 1.5 hours long? How do you miss a whole work day due to that? If you camp out, and you are tired from camping out after the movie, too bad.

To answer your question, no. I will not see it on opening day. In fact, I'd be amazed if I even see it in the theater.

Plus some people will see it multiple times.

LOL. I wouldn't take off work to see a movie that I thought was going to be good, so why would I do it for Ep3?

no way I'd even ATTEMPT to see it opening day. However, places around here have already had pre-sales through Fandango.com for weeks now to avoid camping out.

A bunch of people from my office are going to take an extended lunch break to go see it the day it comes out.

I'm going to wait to see it with the wife though. Plus, I want to see it at one of the theaters that will show it in digital video.

I wouldnt go see that movie if they paid me too.

My company is renting out a theater for an 8:30 a.m. showing next Thursday. So I am, in fact, being paid to see it.
