Do I need any extra hardware to do so or do I just use my high definition cables for the xbox and the hd adapter that came with my 6600 gt card? Need a little help!!!!

I think that the 6600s can only do HDTV out through component. I think if you want to make use of the video-in you'll need to go through either composite or S-Video.

I'm not sure what software you'll need to have it display it, I'm guessing that it should be on the cd that came with the card, but I don't know.

Sorry I wasn't much help at all really.

Since Halo2 isnt out and may never be out (see online petition) for the PC, i guess, your talking for future or your playing a rip of xbox game, which is gonna ruin it anyhow as it be crap. ?

Yeah i agree humey. Im not sure what he is asking. I can connect an XBOX to the PC and play the game on the monitor all i want. However all that is is using the monitor to display an image, the XBOX is still doing all the processing and displaying and what not.

yeah, what exactly are you trying to do?

He is trying to use his PC to play the game in HDTV if I understand it right. That would mean using a TV-in card and playing it on your PC screen. In that case the 6600GT would not mean anything as you need a TV tuner card.

Or, he might be trying to use his 6600GT as a HDTV tuner card using the included HDTV cables which would not work as those are line-out, not line-in like he would need.

Or he just wants to play his xbox on his pc monitor and in that case he needs to let us know what kind of connections he has on his monitor so we can tell him what cables he needs

Or I am full of complete crap 😉

if u wanna play halo2 on your pc monitor in 480p, u need a vga adapter, I highly doubt your 6600GT has component in. the Vdigi vga adapter is pretty good, Vdigi, u can use it on any console that uses componeent cables (I have it myself and it works great, cant wait for xbox2 so I can play games at 720p on my monitor)

I have yet to see any capute device the supports component-in, does such a thing exist?

ya, lots of capture devices have component in- including the aiw series cards

Even if you were able to plug it into your gpu (and I don't think you can) the xbox would still be doing all the work. The 6600gt would just take the image the xbox gives it and put it on your monitor.

What AIW cards? Best I can tell the video-in is all composite and s-video. I know they support component-out, but I don't see any with component-in.

Exactly. Do you simply want to play this game on the monitor as opposed to the TV. Is the TV too big for you?

To do this you would need a VIVO enabled card (because you need Video In).
